PEARC22 Presenter Needs
The following provides information about PEARC22 Presenter Needs, including technical session rooms, posters, printing, and tutorial and workshop evaluations. Please contact pearccon@gmail.com with any additional questions about items not listed.
Technology in Your Technical Session Room
For presenters, PEARC22 is BYOL—Bring Your Own Laptop. Presentation rooms for the Technical Program will have a standard audio-visual configuration to include a projector, screen, and microphone (if needed, depending on the size of the room.) In addition, presenters are also expected to bring any connectors needed to connect their own laptop with the regular sized male HDMI cables connected to the projectors.
Presenters who have technology needs beyond the standard configuration should contact their track chair no later than July 1, 2022. Special requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Presenters are expected to arrive at their session room 15 minutes before the start of the first session to test audio and video. Most sessions rooms are also open during breakfast, lunch, and breaks for testing. Presenters should not rely exclusively on the hotel internet, and are strongly encouraged to have back-up copies of their presentation and all auxiliary resources on their personal laptops.
Two minutes before the end of the Q&A session, presenters should disconnect their laptop from the podium to allow the next presenter to begin connecting their laptop.
PowerPoint Template
Though not required, we encourage presenters to use the PEARC22 PowerPoint template for their presentations:
Presentation Length
Short Papers | 15 minutes (10 minutes for talk + 5 minutes for Q&A) |
Full Papers | 25 minutes (20 minutes for talk + 5 minutes for Q&A) |
Panels | 90 minutes |
BoFs | 60 minutes |
Full Day Tutorial | 3 hours with one break* |
Half Day Tutorial | 6 hours with one break* |
Poster Presenters
The double-sided poster boards are 94″w × 46″h. There will be two posters per side (four posters per board in total.) Posters should be no larger than 46″w × 42″h in order to fit within a 46″ × 46″ space. As a convenience, poster authors may choose to have posters printed at the in-hotel FedEx using the link appended below. The cost of printing a 46″w × 42″h is $114. Posters should be ordered no later than Friday, July 8 in order to have it for Tuesday’s poster and Interact! session. Posters may be hung beginning at 8:00am on Tuesday, July 12; fasteners will be provided.
Interact! Presenters
All submissions should be accessible and usable via a computer-based, HTML5- and WebGL-compliant browser, and ideally, via a modern smartphone or tablet. Unlike past years, there will be no dedicated monitors for the Interact! presentations, so presenters and viewers will need to rely on their own devices. Interact! authors should incorporate a QR code and short URL to their interactive content into their poster for easy launching by attendees. See the above information for Poster Presenters for more details about printing and displaying your Interact! poster.
